Biography
Dr S. J. Chiromo (PhD), who holds two doctoral qualifications: a PhD in Business Studies and a PhD in Accountancy with a specialisation in Taxation, a Master of Commerce in Business Management (passed with distinction), and a Master of Commerce in Taxation (passed with second-class). Dr Chiromo has substantial academic experience and currently serves as a Senior Lecturer and supervisor of master’s and doctoral students at the University of South Africa (UNISA). He is also the founder and Executive Principal of the Equatorial Chartered Institute of Commerce (ECIC), a South Africa-accredited institution that offers qualifications in Accounting, Taxation, Entrepreneurship, and Business Management. In addition, he is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tax Legacy Accountants, an accounting and taxation practice operating in South Africa. His professional affiliations in South Africa include Chartered Tax Adviser (registered with the South African Institute of Taxation, SAIT) and Chief Financial Officer and Accountant in Practice (registered with the Chartered Institute of Business Accountants, CIBA). Drawing on this professional and scholarly background, and informed by a commitment to transformative education, he provides strategic leadership and institutional guidance to support EPSA’s goal of positioning itself as a leading Malawian centre for academic excellence and innovation.
